Kwayera Simpson

Registered dietitian Kwayera Simpson. I have a wealth of experience as a professional chef with over two decades in the catering industry. My career working in Michelin star restaurants, five-star hotels, aeroplane catering, gastro pubs and major events catering has enabled me to gain a wealth of experience. I was responsible for ensuring the establishments and staff met all the requirements of health and safety, such as food hygiene, traceability, COSHH and HACCAP procedures.

I can provide dietary analysis for individuals and restaurant menus. Having a nut allergy, myself and understanding the 14 allergens, I work closely to collaborating with the team and individuals providing coded menus to improve patient safety. I have supervised the preparation of special diets to ensure patient safety is adhered to in a patient-centred way.

In my current role, I deliver diverse clinics across Leeds, covering a wide demographic. I have advanced my skills in malnutrition, dementia, COPD, cancer, diabetes, hyperkalaemia, kidney stones and investigations with abnormal biochemistry. With these conditions I often explore CBT techniques to get the best results with patients.
